    Mr. Diaz will provide an overview of NextGen CM/ECF v1.7.1 and a review of the upgrade. During this review he will discuss linking the CM/ECF account to a PACER account. Finally, he will review looking up active attorney bar members, new civil case submissions, and best e-filing practices.

    Joe Diaz is the CM/ECF Coordinator for the United States District Court, Southern District of California.

    Joe started working with the court in May 2004 and he was one of the members of the team that successfully implemented the CM/ECF system. Prior to working for the Southern District, he worked for Affiliated Computer Systems, which implemented the Jury Management System (JMS) throughout the federal judiciary. He has held positions within the Administrative Office of the United States Courts in Washington D.C. and in Phoenix, Arizona and within the U.S. District Court, District of Arizona, Phoenix Division. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with an Emphasis in Latin American Studies from Arizona State University and a Master of Science Degree in Judicial Administration from the University of Denver College of Law.
