See Summary of Proposed Revisions and Invitation for Public Comment. Pursuant to Civil L.R. 83-2(b), public comments on the proposed modifications may be submitted to media@cand.uscourts.gov until September 18, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. PDT.

Announcing Recipient of the 2023 Hon. David H. Bartick Award for Civility and Professionalism
The United States District Court for the Southern District of California is pleased to announce the selection of Edward Patrick (Pat) Swan, Jr. as the 2023 recipient of the Hon. David H. Bartick Award for Civility and Professionalism.
Pat has practiced law in the Southern District of California for more than 40 years, currently focusing on complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense at Jones Day. Over this time, Pat has developed an untarnished reputation for civility and professionalism. He has continually improved the practice of law, promoted civility, fostered relationships, and mentored the next generation of San Diego lawyers.
