Paper court files are no longer available for Los Angeles Superior Court small claims cases filed on or after May 31, 2016.
Electronic files may be viewed for free on the public access computers located at Los Angeles Superior Court courthouses or for a fee at lacourt.org.
Requests for paper copies can also be obtained via the public access computers or online. Cases filed prior to June 2016 will still need to be viewed at the location where the case was filed.
This new process will provide efficiencies for court staff and the public and enhance the Court’s ability to maintain complete and accessible court records.
