Please be advised that one of many phone scams occuring in the central valley is that residents in kings county are receiving phone calls from a person claiming to be employed by the kings county sheriff’s department stating that presiding judge tarter has issued an arrest warrant. The caller is then instructing the individual to pay money to have the warrant cleared. Please note that in order to clear a warrant, this is not normal practice. If you receive this type of phone call, please hang up and if necessary, call the court to verify such warrant.
