Annual License Renewal period is in full swing – here is what you need to know:
Login into your state bar profile to complete the following tasks:
- Verify required information pursuant to rule 2.2(c)
- Pay annual fees
- Comply with Client Trust Account Protection Program (CTAPP) reporting requirements.
The new(ish) CTAPP compliance requirement can still be overwhelming but it’s pretty simple. You will take a self-assessment which is approximately 10 questions. You will certify that you understand and are following the rules for trust accounting. This should take you between 10-15 minutes.
There are two important questions:
- Ask your firm if they will be covering your renewal fee
- Ask if the firm will be providing account information for your client’s with trust accounts. (Typically, if there is an AP department, this will be handled through them).
The deadline is April 1, 2025. Stay current, don’t get suspended!
