Effective January 1, 2025, amendments to Code of Civil Procedure section 437c regarding timelines for filing MSJs will go into effect. In this presentation, we will explore the Legislature’s reasoning behind making these changes, whether it is truly a benefit to civil motion practice, and what the practical implications are for the legal professionals who actually put these motions together.
Lynne is LPI’s Legal Education Instructor and LPI Past President from 2020-2022. She currently teaches LPI’s Intermediate and Advanced Legal Professional Training Courses, as well as beginning level classes in the Sacramento area. Lynne has been a legal professional for over 30 years, with broad and specialized experience in several practice areas.
