Beginning March 23, 2015, attorneys and self-represented litigants may voluntarily submit documents for electronic filing with the Court of Appeal, Fifth Appellate District in criminal and juvenile matters so long as those documents comply with the court’s amended Local Rule 8, effective May 11, 2015. Of particular importance, documents must comply with part (b) of the amended Local Rule: Specifically, document pages must be consecutively numbered beginning from the cover page of the document and using only the Arabic numbering system, as in 1, 2. 3; and the table of contents for each brief shall include electronic bookmarks to each heading in the text.
